The Freeport Area School District encompasses a 53.4 square mile region and includes the municipalities of Freeport Borough, Buffalo Township, and South Buffalo Township.  It is home to 11,756 residents. 


According to the U.S. census of 2010, there were 4,646 households, and 3,416 families residing in the borough. The population was spread out with 25.2% under the age of 19, 13.2% from 20-34, 22.3% from 34-49, 23.8% from 50 to 64, and 15.5% over the age of 65. The median age was 42.8 years.


The median income for a household was $38,620, and the median income for a family was $46,091. Per capita income in the district was $18,583 (2000 census information).
