I'm so excited for a brand new year of learning! This will be my seventh year of teaching and my fourth year at Freeport Area Middle School. Previously, I taught 8th grade in eastern PA. I have also taught in Maryland where I spent two years teaching 6th grade English. It was here that I also spent my summers welcoming incoming 6th graders to the building and showing them all the tools for success as they made the transition from elementary to middle school. 

It is my personal philosophy that growth happens when we are willing to learn and broaden our horizons. In the classroom, I strive to help my students navigate academics and real-world issues, blending the two to make learning relevant, valuable, and engaging. I believe in blended and personalized learning where students are at the heart of it all. Because so much of life is about perspective, I hope to teach my students the value of empathy, determination, and positivity.
