Chemistry, the most central of the sciences, is the study of the composition, structure, and properties of matter.  The topics covered over the course of the school year include: scientific method, SI and English measurement systems, significant figures, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, phase changes, gases, and solutions.
