A message from Mrs. Zollinger: 

I am very excited to begin a new year and anticipate a terrific year ahead for your child! With sixth grade comes new information, new responsibilities, and new opportunities. The first year of their middle school career is upon us!  The sixth grade English Language Arts class will provide a balance of reading, writing, language, speaking, and listening skills.  There is so much to learn and I feel both humbled and privileged to have the opportunity to share in your child’s daily education.  

I have taught at the Freeport Area School District since 2001.   I had the opportunity to work with second, fourth, and sixth grade students!  This will be my fifth year teaching ELA at the middle school and I am looking forward to it.  I graduated summa cum laude from Slippery Rock University with my bachelors in elementary and a minor in Spanish education.  I then continued to Gannon University to earn my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  Once I completed my masters, I was enticed to continue even further and earned my Administrative Certification papers in grades K-12.  I am a lifelong learner and hope to instill the same virtues and work ethic into your child this year.
