Biology is the “study of life.”  In other words, Biology is everywhere.  From the smallest of organisms like bacteria to the largest, like the African Elephant, wherever life exists on earth, you will find Biology!  This year-long course will give us the opportunity to explore the world of Biology and to prepare for the Keystone Biology Exam.  We will investigate the following topics throughout the school year: labratory safety, scientific method, characteristics of living organisms, biochemistry, ecology, biogeochemical cycles, cell structure and function, bioenergetics, genetics, and evolution.
