Professional Biography

After graduating from Grove City College with a BA in International Business and Spanish, I pursued a career working in international sales for a manufacturing company in Zelienople, PA.  After leaving the company to stay at home with my son, I continued my education by returning to Grove City College to obtain my Spanish teaching certification.  While student teaching at the Butler Area Intermediate school, I also taught both credit and non-credit Spanish courses at Butler County Community College.

I was hired by Freeport Area School District while student teaching and have been teaching there since.  In the fourteen years of my career at the school, I have taught all four levels of Spanish. Additionally, I received my Masters in Education degree as well as my teaching certification for English as a Second Language from Duquesne University.  I have been able to use that certification for classroom teaching and assessment of English language learners.  

Through the years, I have been able to add to my professional experience as an adjunct faculty member at Clarion University teaching undergraduate education courses, as well as continued work at Butler County Community College teaching Spanish.
