Right to Know Law Requests

Last Updated: 12/5/2018 2:51 PM

Governor Edward G. Rendell signed the new Right-To-Know Law on February 14, 2008, fundamentally changing the way people access public records of their government.  Government agencies must presume that a record is a public record available for inspection or copying.  The Law requires government agencies, including school districts, to comply with the new regulations as set forth by the Right-to-Know Law Act 3 of 2008.  This Law changes the way citizens have access to public records of their government agencies and the way these government agencies process these requests.  For more information, please review the Pennsylvania Open Records Law by clicking here.  To obtain a public record from the Freeport Area School District, please complete the open records form (click here for forms) and send via mail to Val Smith, Open Records Officer, Freeport Area School District, PO Drawer C, Freeport, PA, fax to (724) 295-3001, or email openrecordsrequests@freeport.k12.pa.us.  Contact Ms. Smith with any questions at (724) 295-5143, ext. 1223, or contact the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records below.
