4th Grade Elementary Band - Students in band receive a 20-minute lesson once every 6 days. The first several months they learn to assemble their instrument, hold their instrument and learn their five basic notes. During the second semester the students learn to play a few songs from their method book. Students are expected to practice at least three times between lessons 15 - 20 minutes each time. They should practice what they had learned in their previous lesson, it will be marked in their books.

5th Grade Elementary Band - Students in band receive a 40-minute lesson once every 6 days. The first several months they will review their five basic notes and learn to read and perform more complex rhythms.  During the second semester the students learn to play song selections for their spring concert. Students are expected to practice at least three times between lessons 15 - 20 minutes each time. They should practice what they had learned in their previous lesson, it will be marked in their books & concert music.
