Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to South Buffalo Elementary School where our students always come first!  At South Buffalo, you will find a talented, outgoing, engaging, and caring staff dedicated to helping each child reach their full potential.  We are supported by an active PTO, parent volunteers, caring families, and a strong school community.

South Buffalo Elementary offers a rigorous course of study that includes the essential core academic areas such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, as well as the fine and applied arts consisting of music, art, physical education, library, and computer applications.  Students in 4th and 5th grade receive instruction in health, and may participate in the choral and band programs.  An innovative maker education program is integrated in the curriculum as part of our makerspace initiative.  Students of all ages explore STEM concepts within the curriculum, as well as through extensions in robotics and coding.  Literacy skill development is supported and enriched through our ECRI approach, and assistance is provided by a robust RtII and Title I support system.   A school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, fortified by Responsive Classroom curriculum, focuses on recognizing kind acts and positive behavior between and amongst our students.  South Buffalo Elementary supports the development of the whole child with special emphasis placed on the social-emotional well-being of our students, fostered through curricular means, as well as a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).

Please take your time and visit our website.  It is our hope that you will find our website to be a valuable resource of information about our amazing school, programs, and events.  The partnership between parents and the school is a catalyst to student success, and I encourage you to get involved at South Buffalo with your child’s education, as there are numerous opportunities throughout the school year for parent participation.  If you have any questions at any time during the school year, please feel free to contact me or any other staff member.  We would be happy to help you!
