Mental Health Support Services

Research from the field has indicated that when a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) is implemented within school settings, these data-driven frameworks can promote positive student academic and behavioral outcomes, as well as safe and optimal school climates.

Our district school counselors implement Tier 1 service interventions in the form of classroom instruction and schoolwide programming and initiatives. They also conduct Tier 2 interventions, which can include small-group counseling, short-term, solution-focused individual counseling, as well as consultation/collaboration with school personnel, families, and community stakeholders.

Tier 3 interventions are more individualized and are collaboratively developed by the trained members of our Freeport Area Care Team (FACT). As licensed professional counselors (LPC), our district LPCs can provide Tier 3 individual and intensive small group counseling sessions to students actively involved in our Student Assistance Program.
