All students in the Freeport Area School District will be issued a District-owned device.
Replacement costs for Chromebooks range from $200-$250 and for laptops from $300-$600. If the device issued to your child is damaged, lost, or stolen and Device Protection coverage is not in place, you will be charged the full cost of the repair or replacement of the device.
Device Protection coverage is available at a low cost to District parents/guardians, to help them avoid the high cost of repairing or replacing a damaged, lost, or stolen device, and enrollment is easy.
Once enrolled, if your child's device is damaged, lost or stolen, it is easy to file a claim to cover the cost. Deductibles for each claim are very affordable, including the first claim at no cost.

The District's School Device Protection Program does not cover damage or loss resulting from negligence or misuse of the device.
