The first grade art experience includes, but is not limited to:
-Identifying and naming the colors in color wheel order.
-Identifying the primary and secondary colors.
-Creating simple paper folds and paper sculptures.
-Identifying seasonal and environmental characteristics in art.
-Identifying and creating simple patterns.
-Continuing to develop fine motor skills such as coloring, cutting with scissors, and clay modeling.
-Identifying the difference between two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects and works of art.
-Creating basic weaving using the "over-under" technique.
-Drawing scenes and illustrations from books or stories within or outside of art class.
