Classroom Procedures

  • All non-essential materials (that includes all electronic devices) are to be put in an empty cubby in the shelves at either the front or back of the room.  You are not to touch anyone else’s belongings.
  • If you need to text a parent/guardian before the bell, please ask to do so.  If you do not ask, I will take your phone as discussed on the syllabus.
  • Books are under the desks, put them back when done.
  • Hall pass
    • You do NOT need to ask permission to use the hall pass for the bathroom or if you forgot materials for THIS class.
    • You sign out on the clipboard on the closet door with time and destination
    • Take wooden hall pass with you
    • One person out at a time
    • Limit of 4 minutes (if you are not feeling well, get a pass to nurse, not the hall pass)
    • The hall pass cannot be signed out during a quiz or test unless you have turned yours in.
    • If it appears to me that you are abusing the hall pass privilege, you will not be permitted to leave my room for the remainder of the year unless escorted by security or a teacher on hall duty.
  • Pencil sharpeners are in the front and back of room.
  • Recycle paper as well as plastic and bottles in the 2 containers at front of room.
  • The refrigerator and microwave are NOT for student use.  Exception: fiesta day
  • Safety
    • Fire drill – we will leave the building via the crosshall (by library) and proceed out the student entrance.  There is a “27” painted on the sidewalk and students will line up single file for attendance check and further instructions
    • Intruder drill – Mr. Moorhead will be discussing appropriate procedures (there is a slight difference from previous years)

If there is something I didn’t cover, just ask!!
