The Freeport Preschool Program was developed by the Family and Consumer Sciences Department, for the purpose of providing child development students opportunity to interact with and observe children. The program has been enhanced through the cooperation and help of the kindergarten program of FASD. All activities and instruction is influenced based on criteria that are expected of students on the first day of kindergarten.
Our goal is to prepare each of the children for their first day of kindergarten. Concepts that are covered include: Shapes, Colors, Numbers 1-20, Letters, Phonetics, and Themed Ideas. Activities that are covered include: Arts & Crafts, Small Motor Skills, Large Motor Skills, Spelling & Writing, Story Time, Structured Play, and Guided Play.
Applicants must be residents of the Freeport Area School District. Parents will be required to provide transportation to and from Freeport Area Senior High School.
