Freeport Area High School

Freeport Area High School is located on 95 acres in Sarver, Buffalo Township, with good access, parking, and well-developed recreational areas available. The facility was originally constructed in 1960, with additions completed in 1967 and 1987.  The school enrolls approximately 600 students in grades 9 through 12.
 
The High School curriculum is comprehensive in scope with a progressive secondary program designed with an academic curriculum to meet the needs of all students.  Students in grades 10, 11 and 12 are eligible to attend the Lenape Vocational-Technical School, which is a two-year full day program offering both vocational and technical curriculum.
 
Health services are available to all secondary students. Guidance services assist the students in making career and educational choices.  Extracurricular activities include social organizations and both intramural and interscholastic sports programs.  Opportunities are available for extended academic work and in the performing arts, particularly music.

Freeport Area Middle School

The Freeport Area Middle School shares its campus with the Freeport Area High School, on 95 acres, separated by a half-mile driveway.  The Middle School enrolls approximately 450 students in Grades 6, 7, and 8.

 
Students attending the Freeport Area Middle School participate in a comprehensive education program.  In addition to the regular curriculum, guidance counseling services are available for the students.  Students have the opportunity to join a chorus or participate in the Middle School band.  Interscholastic teams (football, basketball, and volleyball) as well as intramural programs are available.

Buffalo Elementary School

Buffalo Elementary School is located on 21.3 acres in a rural area of Sarver, Buffalo Township. Access is good, with well-developed and ample paved parking on the grounds. Originally a one story building, it was built in 1936. Additions were made in 1955, 1962, and 2001.  The school enrolls about 600 students in grades K through 5.
 
The instructional program is progressive in nature, with an extensive computer technology component in the curriculum for grades K-6. Art, music, library, and physical education services are furnished by special personnel. A reading improvement program provides specialized help through Title I funds to qualifying students. Libraries and health rooms are located in each building. Nursing services are provided to all the elementary schools. The services of a guidance counselor are available. An instrumental music program for grades 4-5, and chorus for grade 5 is offered. Children who have special needs are serviced in a Mixed Category Resource Room.

 South Buffalo Elementary School

South Buffalo Elementary School is located on 16 acres in a rural area of Freeport, South Buffalo Township. Good access is available to the school from a main artery and the parking ares are well developed and paved.  The one story building was built in 1954 with an addition in 1962.  An extensive renovation and expansion project was completed in 2007.  The school enrolls about 310 students in grades K through 5.
 
The instructional program is progressive in nature, with an extensive computer technology component in the curriculum for grades K-6.
