    High School and Middle School students will be dismissed at 12:30 pm. Elementary School students will be dismissed at 1:30 pm.

PTO — Volunteer Committees

Yearbook

The Yearbook Committee plans and designs the South Buffalo Yearbook. Duties include taking photos at events, communicating with the yearbook company, and designing yearbook pages online.

 

Book Fair

The Book Fair Committee runs the Scholastic Book Fair twice per year - once in the fall and once in the spring. Duties include planning, decorating, setting up and tearing down the fair, helping children shop the fair, etc.

 

Fundraising

The Fundraising Committee is in charge of fundraising efforts for the PTO, which make our events possible. Duties include brainstorming fundraising opportunities, planning fundraisers, helping with collection of forms, distribution of items, etc.

 

Hospitality

The Hospitality Committee is in charge of making our teachers and staff feel appreciated. Duties include helping with teacher/staff gifts, treats, etc. throughout the year, with the main event being Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

 

Books to Go

Books to Go is our book exchange program that occurs once per month for each grade. Duties include organizing and stamping books, procurement of additional books, and assisting children choosing books.

 

Philanthropy

The Philanthropy Committee is responsible for fundraising efforts for local charitable organizations. Duties include brainstorming new events/ideas for fundraising as well as helping with those already in place/requested by the school/teachers (Food Drive, etc.)

 

Santa's Workshop

Santa's Workshop is our week-long holiday shop for the students in December. Duties include shopping for items throughout the year, setting up the shopping area, helping students shop, running cash register, clean up, etc.

 

Field Day

Field Day is our end of the year day of fun for the children. Duties include working with Mr. Lowry to coordinate activities, purchasing/gathering items needed for activities, brainstorming new ideas for this day, helping run activities on Field Day.

 

5th Grade

The 5th Grade Committee is in charge of giving our 5th graders a warm send-off at the end of the year. Duties include planning and organizing the 5th grade picnic, organizing and ordering 5th grade shirts and gifts, and working with the 5th grade teachers.
