The Freeport Area School District educates approximately 2,000 students.

 

The District was formed in 1969 to serve Freeport Borough and South Buffalo Townships in Southwestern Armstrong County and Buffalo Township in southeastern Butler County.

 

The District encompasses over 50 square miles in Buffalo Township, Freeport Borough, and South Buffalo Township.

 

Four buildings house the students of the district.

 

Facts about each school building and our staff:

 

Freeport Area High School - Grades 9-12

625 South Pike Road, Sarver, Pennsylvania (Buffalo Township) 

Constructed in 1960, with additions in 1967 and 1987

Approximate number of students: 600 

Approximate number of teachers: 60

88% of graduates attend post-secondary education

 

Freeport Area Middle School - Grades 6-8

629 South Pike Road, Sarver, Pennsylvania (Buffalo Township)

Constructed in 2014-2015

Approximate number of Students: 450

Approximate number of teachers: 50

 

Buffalo Elementary School - Grades K-5

500 Sarver Road, Sarver, Pennsylvania (Buffalo Township)

Constructed in 1936, with additions in 1955, 1962, and complete renovations plus additions in 2001

Approximate Number of Students: 500

Approximate number of teachers: 45

 

South Buffalo Elementary School - Grades K-5

562 Freeport Road, Freeport, Pennsylvania (South Buffalo Township)

Constructed in 1954, with addition in 1962 and renovations/additions in 2007

Approximate Number of Students: 300

Approximate number of teachers: 25
