Welcome to the 2017-2018 Buffalo Elementary school year!!  We at the Buffalo Elementary PTO hope you had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to another productive school year.  Whether this is your first year here or you’re a veteran, we’d like to share with you some of the events and privileges the Buffalo PTO provides for all the children in the school.

• Gifts for all graduating 5th graders

• Sponsorship of Creative Expressions and the Science Fair

• Free yearbooks for students the past 9 years

• Field trips to the Pittsburgh Zoo, PNC Park, Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Children’s Museums, etc.

• Educational in-school assemblies on global warming, reptiles, astronomy, ATA karate, etc.

• Coordination of 3 holiday parties for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day

• Book Fairs that generate free books for students and teachers

• End of year Field Day experience with music, tug-o-war, sack races, inflatables, snacks, etc.

This is just a small sample of the many ways that Buffalo PTO provides and enhances the elementary school experience for all students.

For the safety of our student and staff, only members of the PTO are allowed to participate in PTO sponsored events.

We welcome and encourage all families to join the PTO, and, if capable, assist in providing these many benefits to our children.  Please consider joining and bring your talents and support of education to the PTO.  Attached you will find a PTO Membership Form.  If you are interested in becoming a Homeroom Representative or Classroom Party Parent, please return this form no later than September 21, 2016.

We look forward to seeing you all at our first meeting on September 11th at 7:00pm in the cafeteria!
